Key milestones in the growth of AutostoreTint
The Idea Takes Shape
AutostoreTint was founded with a simple goal to make professional quality car window tinting more accessible and DIY friendly. We began researching the potential for removable tinting solutions that could be installed without glue using a more reliable attachment method
Early Trials and Material Testing
We tested multiple film types and mounting options. Traditional glues were too messy and cling films lacked durability. Eventually we started experimenting with transparent 3M mounting tape to secure the tint edges without affecting visibility
Fitment and Design Challenges
We manually trimmed films for specific car models and tested them in various environments. The goal was to ensure clean installation and strong hold using just 3M edge tape while allowing for future removability without residue
Securing the Right Film
We identified a high quality tint film that worked well with 3M tape. It blocked UV and heat effectively while maintaining optical clarity. At the same time we began digitally designing pre cut templates for better consistency
User Testing and Finalisation
After refining our application method we invited local drivers to test our kits. Their feedback helped us improve the packaging instructions and placement of the 3M securing points for a smoother DIY install process
Product Development Begins
We began production of pre cut removable tint kits using 3M tape to hold the film in place. No glue no mess and no special tools required
First Working Prototype
Completed our first functional prototype including fitment for 10 vehicles and full packaging. Installation only took minutes and removal left no damage or marks
Soft Launch in Singapore
We launched our kits for 50 local car models. The 3M edge tape system proved easy to install with strong hold even in tropical weather. Customer response was highly positive
Global Expansion
We opened international shipping and grew our template library to over 1500 vehicle models. With improved packaging and documentation we made DIY tinting accessible worldwide
